Education and Mental Health (IFEMH 2026)

In a time of growing climate uncertainty and emotional strain, education must do more than inform -it must help heal, empower, and build resilience.
It was a privilege to chair The 5th International Forum on Education and Mental Health (IFEMH 2026) at Ajman University , held online on March 31 – April 1 under the theme:
“Sustainable Minds: Strengthening Well-Being and Climate Resilience Through Education.”
The forum brought together voices from across five continents to explore the vital intersection of mental health, education, and sustainability.
We were honored to have Dr. Karim Seghir , Chancellor of Ajman University, deliver the welcome address, and privileged to feature keynote speakers Ms. Hauwa Ibrahim and Dr. Mansor Abu Talib, whose contributions added valuable global perspectives.
Across two days, the forum addressed urgent themes including climate anxiety, sustainable well-being, youth leadership, inclusive education, resilience, and student voice.
One meaningful highlight was translating dialogue into action. We planted six mangrove trees symbolizing resilience, hope, emotional well-being, sustainable futures, and student voice.
We were also proud to announce the upcoming
🌱 IFEMH–AUWEC Award for Women’s Studies Research Proposals, supporting impactful work in women’s mental health, education, leadership, and empowerment.
My sincere thanks to our speakers, organizing team, and especially our students, whose voices continue to inspire meaningful change.
Special appreciation to Dr.dalia Bedewy and Dr.Erum Khan for their outstanding dedication and contribution to the success of this forum.
The future of education must be not only intelligent and innovative -but also compassionate, restorative, and deeply human.
